I was introduced to yoga and meditation as a child when my grandmother taught me how to sit in the lotus position and watch my breath. My interest was piqued and I pored over my mother’s yoga books practicing the postures! I began attending yoga classes when I moved to London in my early twenties and was drawn to this practice which combined my love of gymnastics and movement with meditation and stillness. Life has taken me in lots of different directions from researching and producing history documentaries to teaching English in prisons to living, working and raising a family in Hong Kong and Singapore. In the midst of all this change and variety I have felt that I come home to myself through my yoga practice. It makes me feel more spacious, more grounded and more connected to myself, the earth and to other people.
I qualified to teach yoga on the British Wheel of Yoga certified training programme at Triyoga London with Jean Hall and Mimi Kuo Deemer. I continue to mentor trainee teachers under the guidance of Mimi and Jean. I spent two years assisting senior teacher Louise Grime. Most recently I trained in Yoga for BackCare with Yoga teacher and osteopath Anji Gopal. I have a degree in History from Oxford University and a PGCE in adult literacy from the Institute of Education.
I started doing gentle yoga with Anna when I had a rotator cuff injury. Then later, following keyhole surgery. I was delicate and in pain but needed to work on building up my strength and confidence. I couldn’t do a class so one to one was perfect.
Anna has been practising yoga for a long time and she instinctively understands what you need. I absolutely trusted her to give me the right advice. We did a lot of restorative yoga which also helped to calm my emotions and the practice focused on strengthening muscles around the shoulder as they were weak. I’m also hypermobile so it was always a bit of a balancing act. All the sessions were bespoke and pitched just right.
Anna has a calm, kind and confident manner and a good sense of humour, and I always left sessions feeling restored and light. She clearly loves teaching and is very good at it. Highly recommended.

I attended Anna’s yoga classes for several months last year and found them extremely relaxing, friendly and supportive. They were also fun! I was never patronised or made to feel self-conscious about my slight physical awkwardness and would recommend Anna’s classes to beginners such as myself as well as to anyone seeking to refresh their yoga skills.
